Become an ERA Graduate

ERA is seeking passionate graduates from the disciplines of exercise & sports science or physical education to join our team in 2013. Details about the program and application process are provided below.

 

Commitment: minimum of 10 hours per week, commencing February - December 2012.
Remuneration: a support scholarship of $ 5000.00 will be awarded to the successful applicant.
Close date: 5 pm Monday 5th December, 2011

 

ERA is offering exercise & sports science as well as physical education graduates an opportunity to learn from practicing Australian sports scientists and educators. As a sports science graduate you will work alongside industry professionals to deliver sports testing and training programs to a range of athletes and teams. This role will also include maintaining our national testing accreditation as a sports science laboratory (NSSQA). Physical Education graduates will be given the opportunity to gain experience in the industry as an ERA educator within our schools program and fitness courses. Successful graduates will work with industry professionals to plan and implement physical education and fitness courses. The position will also include a mentoring role with undergraduate University students.

Ongoing Training and Development
Our graduates will be trained across a number of areas including exercise physiology testing and demonstrating, athlete coaching, strength and conditioning programming, field testing, sports nutrition and body composition (ISAK Level 1 skinfold qualification).


Hands-on education
From day one you will be working directly with our team of scientists and educators to deliver quality education packages to VCE PE and University students as well as teachers and fitness professionals.

Become an ERA trainee

ERA is seeking enthusiastic and eligible students from the disciplines of exercise science or physical education to join our Trainee Program in 2013. Details about the program and application process are provided below.

Commitment: 1 day per week, commencing February 2013- December 2013.
Close date: February 16th, 2013


The ERA student placement has been designed by sports scientists and educators for students seeking a career in exercise science and education. We understand how difficult it is for students to break into the industry. Our traineeship will give you valuable experience in areas such as fitness testing (field and laboratory), strength and conditioning, report generation and education that you are able to include on your resume. As an ERA Trainee, you will also have access to ongoing professional development.

Kick-start your career
Our trainees have gained employment and experience in professional and National sporting institutes. In addition, priority will be given to ERA trainees seeking a graduate position.

Apply your knowledge in the field
Assist our applied sports scientists with athlete and team testing, coaching, programming and education services.

Ongoing Training and Development
During the traineeship, you will become competent in a range of applied skills that will be recognised by organisations within the sporting industry. As a trainee you will also be involved in a series of practical workshops and research projects throughout the year.
