Students will be involved in a practical laboratory to:

Learn how the cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal systems integrate during exercise |
• |
Understand how the aerobic and anaerobic energy systems work together during exercise |
• |
Measure responses to physical activity during a VO2max test (i.e. respiration, heart rate, oxygen and fuel use) |
• |
Compare your student's VO2max test results to elite athletes from different sports (i.e. AFL, cycling, marathon running) |
• |
Laboratory Report: A copy of your student's VO2max test results is provided to your group |
Lab Activity: A student will perform a running VO2max test while real-time data is displayed and discussed by a sports scientist to the class. |
