Students will be involved in planning, implementing and evaluating a training program:

Define and discuss the major fitness components and energy systems used in sporting events |
• |
Learn how to assess each fitness component by developing a pre- and post-training test battery |
• |
Understand the principles of training and the methods used to enhance fitness and performance |
• |
Design a periodised strength training program using the latest sports technology |
• |
Identify the chronic training adaptations of the respiratory, cardiovascular and muscular body systems. |
Lab Activity: Your students will participate in a training session with sports scientists in our elite training centre using the latest techniques designed to improve the major components of fitness. including: muscular strength, power and endurance. Students will be given a laboratory worksheet to complete in the session. |
